Plyometric training is an important training program for handball project participants to improve their physical fitness. The goal of the study was to see how twelve weeks of plyometric training affected selected physical fitness variables in the Jimma city handball team. The participants in this study are 30 project trainees divided into two groups, each with 15 trainees. Participants for groups I (experimental group-15) and II (control group-15) were chosen using simple random selection. For 12 weeks, the participants were included in a supervised plyometric exercise three days per week. Flexibility (sit and reach), explosive power (vertical leap), muscular strength (sit-up), speed (50 m run), agility (10 × 4 shuttle run) and coordination were the physical fitness factors for the study (handball throwing accuracy). The info was gathered from a primary source. SPSS software version 21.0 was used to analyze the data and a paired sample T-test was utilized to compare the means. The results of this study showed that following a 12-week plyometric training program, there was a substantial improvement in selected physical fitness variables attributable to the effects of plyometric training. When comparing the pre and posttest of physical fitness characteristics in the study, there was no significant difference in mean value and standard devotion in the control group. This study concluded that the plyometric training program is simple to implement and coaches should be encouraged to employ it in training sessions to develop professional handball players of various ages and levels.
