Implants between Success and faliure

Omar Salim Alhanashi

Since Branemark placed his first titainum implant in a real volunteered human patient mouth in 1965 and the dental implant is a gold topic in all dental meetings and gathering. Dental Implants has been a favorite topic in the dental field recently, and the revaluation of dental implants alongside with the other dental fields was stunning and impressive. However, the success of dental implants has been a question that that is continuously raised in all the discussions and debates of dental implant. Hence, it is very important to know what are the steps toward a successful implant placement and what is the influence of the brand on our outcome (if it is really leaves an influence), and most important when do we say that we do have a failure, what cause that failure to occur and how to deal with it. It’s important as well to know the failure when it occurs at its earliest stages because knowing that from the very beginning is a success for another diagnosis and follow up. That’s why in this topic our focus will be on how to draw a line between a successful and failed dental implant, trying to merge and point all the factors that could affect the success of the implant success rate.
